Founded in 1891, AIK are one of the oldest and most storied clubs in the country, with twelve Allsvenskan titles to their name and a passionate support base that makes them one of Sweden's most followed clubs. Their traditional colours are black and yellow, earning them the nickname Gnaget - The Gnawers. In 2010, the club played their home matches at the Råsunda Stadium in Solna.

The 2010 home shirt was manufactured by Adidas, following the club's traditional template of a predominantly black shirt with yellow accents - a combination that has defined AIK's visual identity for decades.

The 2010 season was one of considerable turmoil, a sharp contrast to the success that preceded it. AIK had entered the campaign as defending Allsvenskan champions and Svenska Cupen holders, but the season quickly unravelled. Manager Mikael Stahre, the architect of the 2009 double, resigned in April, with Alex Miller eventually taking charge on a permanent basis in June. High-profile loan signing Sebastián Eguren failed to make an impact, and the reigning champions found themselves drawn into a relegation battle for much of the campaign.

The club were also eliminated early from European competition, exiting the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round against Rosenborg before falling at the Europa League playoff stage to Levski Sofia. The one bright spot came from Sierra Leonean forward Mohamed Bangura, who joined mid-season and finished as the club's top scorer in the league with six goals, helping AIK ultimately finish 11th and preserve their top-flight status.

The season had opened with a piece of silverware - AIK lifted the Svenska Supercupen - but by season end, it was one to forget for AIK fans.

Follow the club on X: @AIKfotboll

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0509/5564/9221/files/AIKFotboll2010HomeShirt_bbe20c2e-1199-4e2a-86c4-5adc6e3b2466.jpg?v=1778155407
