In March 2021, prior to the 2021 Malaysia Super League season, the team changed its name to Kuala Lumpur City. During that same season, they defeated Johor Darul Ta'zim 2–0 in the final of the 2021 Malaysia Cup, winning the cup for the first time in 32 years.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe club wore this home shirt in the 2025\/26 season as they competed in the Malaysia Super League.
