SC Telstar - Special Shirt 2021/2022
SC TELSTAR – SPECIAL SHIRT 2021/2022
Sportclub Telstar is a Dutch professional football club based in the
northern town of Velsen-Zuid. Currently, Telstar compete in the
Eerste Divisie, the second division of Dutch football. The club
was founded in 1963 after fierce local rivals VSV and
Stormvogels merged to form a new club. The club’s name
comes from the then recently launched Telstar Satellite.
The ‘Witte Leeuwen’ (The White Lions) play at the Rabobank
IJmuiden Stadion, which has a capacity of 3,625.
This stunning rainbow special kit, manufactured & designed by Dutch sportswear brand Robey, was worn by Telstar in the 21-22 Eerste Divisie campaign on the 15th October 2021 when the club played Volendam as part of the #AllTogetherChallenge for Coming Out Day, drawing attention to equality and discrimination.
Unfortunately, this beautiful shirt didn’t give Telstar good luck as they lost the match 1-5, despite taking the lead!
