We sent a team to Tackle Africa's London Football Marathon on Saturday 18th June & managed to raise over £1000 for such a superb charity! Watch this space, we'll be taking part next year...

Tackle Africa's mission:

Tackle Africa uses the power and popularity of football to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to young people on football pitches across the continent. They currently work across 10 countries reaching over 20,000 young people every year.

They do this by training African football coaches, games teachers and community leaders to use fun, interactive football sessions with inbuilt health messaging with their players.

Why football?
Football is hugely popular amongst young people in Africa, and you are never far from a football game, whether in an organised league or a simple kickabout with a makeshift ball. Football is therefore a great way to engage with young people regularly – something that traditional health programmes and clinics often struggle to do.

Football provides a platform for regular sexual health education with a respected and informed coach, and creates a safe space for young people to discuss sensitive issues.
