WURZBURGER KICKERS - HOME 2019/20
Würzburger Kickers is a German professional football club based in the city of Würzburg, Bavaria. The Rothosen (red shorts) play their home games at the flyeralarm Arena, a 13,090 seater stadium which was expanded in 2016 in order to meet league standards. For the majority of their history, Würzburger have been an amateur side. Other than one short stint in the 2. Bundesliga in 1977/78, the Kickers competed in Germany’s semi-pro and amateur divisions, their lowest point being the 7th tier. Würzburger reached the 3. Liga in 2014/15 and have not looked back since. They subsequently climbed to the 2. Bundesliga in 2015/16.
Würzburger wore this home shirt in a successful season in 3. Liga where they finished
second behind Bayern Munich II. As a second team Bayern cannot be promoted and so
Wurzburger were promoted back to 2. Bundesliga.
Luca Pfeiffer top scored for the Kickers with 15 goals in all competitions.
