ALEBRIJES DE OAXACA - 

Alebrijes de Oaxaca Fútbol Club is a Mexican football team based in the southern city of Oaxaca. Los Alebrijes, founded in December 2012, play their home matches at the 14,598 capacity Estadio Tecnológico de Oaxaca. 

The side compete in Liga de Expansión MX, the Mexican second tier.

The club’s nickname is Los Alebrijes, named after brightly coloured Mexican folk art sculptures of mythical creatures. Their shirts are often funky and vibrant due to their inspiration coming from Los Alebrijes, making them a real favourite for those looking for a crazy shirt to add to their collection.

This raucous number was worn in the 2019/2020 campaign, which was disrupted by the COVID-19 Pandemic. 2019 saw the final campaign of the Liga de Ascenso MX, the previous iteration of the Mexican second tier.

Alebrijes finished as champions of the Apertura (opening) stage, topping the league phase and winning the title playoff. The Clausura stage never started, due to the onset of the pandemic. This meant Alebrijes were the final team to lift the Ascenso MX trophy!
