ARSENAL – AWAY SHIRT 2020/2021
Arsenal Football Club are a professional football team based in Islington, North London. They compete in the Premier League, the highest level of English football, and play their home matches at the Emirates Stadium, which has a capacity of 60,704. Founded in 1886 by workers at the Royal Arsenal munitions factory in Woolwich, the club are famously known as The Gunners. Their supporters, known as Gooners, proudly carry on that historic identity.
Arsenal are one of the most successful clubs in English football history. Domestically, they have won 13 league titles, including the iconic unbeaten “Invincibles” season, along with a record 14 FA Cups, 2 League Cups, 17 Community Shields, and the Football League Centenary Trophy. In European competition, Arsenal have lifted the European Cup Winners’ Cup and the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, with the UEFA Champions League remaining the one major honour yet to be secured.
This away kit was worn during the 2020/2021 season, a campaign played largely behind closed doors due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. It was also the first full season under manager Mikel Arteta, who was continuing to reshape the squad following his appointment the previous year.
In the Premier League, Arsenal endured an inconsistent season, finishing 8th, narrowly missing out on European qualification for the first time in 25 years. Despite struggles in the league, there were still moments of promise as younger players began to establish themselves in the first team.
In Europe, Arsenal reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League, where their run came to an end against Villarreal in a closely contested tie.
Bukayo Saka had a real breakthrough season for Arsenal and emerged as one of the standout performers of the season, impressing with his versatility, creativity, and maturity, while captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang contributed important goals throughout the campaign.
