BARCELONA – AWAY SHIRT 2016/2017
Known as FC Barcelona and colloquially as Barça, are a professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. They compete in La Liga primarily. Barça play their home matches at the iconic Camp Nou, which currently holds just under 100,000 spectators, making it the largest stadium in Europe. The club also maintains a storied rivalry with Real Madrid, with matches between the two known worldwide as El Clásico.
Domestically, Barça have won a record 80 trophies (as of 24 October 2025): 28 La Liga titles, 32 Copa del Rey, 2 Copa de la Liga, 15 Supercopa de España, and 3 Copa Eva Duarte. Internationally, Barcelona have claimed 22 European and worldwide titles, including five UEFA Champions League trophies, a record four UEFA Cup Winners’ Cups, five UEFA Super Cups, and three FIFA Club World Cups.
This Nike away shirt was worn during the 2016/2017 campaign, the final season at the club for both Neymar and manager Luis Enrique. The season began emphatically with a 5–0 aggregate victory over Sevilla in the Supercopa de España, but the remainder of the campaign was mixed. The most memorable moments included the historic 6–1 comeback against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League Round of 16 - overturning a 0–4 first-leg defeat - and a dramatic 3–2 last-minute away win over Real Madrid on 23 April, 2017, courtesy of Lionel Messi.
Despite these highlights, Barcelona fell short in most competitions. They were eliminated by Juventus in the Champions League quarter-finals (0–3 away, 0–0 home) and finished three points behind Real Madrid in La Liga. Their only silverware was a third consecutive Copa del Rey, secured on 27 May with a win over Alavés. Lionel Messi scored an extraordinary 54 goals in all competitions, leading the Blaugrana throughout the season.
