CARDIFF CITY – HOME SHIRT 2024/2025
Cardiff City Football Club are a professional football club based in Cardiff, Wales. Founded in 1899 as Riverside A.F.C., they adopted the name Cardiff City in 1908. They joined the Southern Football League in 1910, and entered the English Football League a decade later in 1920.
The Bluebirds hold a unique place in football history as the only team from outside England to win the FA Cup, achieving the feat in 1927.
The 2024/2025 season, in which this traditional home shirt was worn, proved to be a difficult campaign. Cardiff finished bottom of the Championship and were relegated to League One for the 2025/2026 season.
The club began the season under Erol Bulut, but after collecting just one point from the opening six games, he was dismissed. Omer Riza initially stepped in on an interim basis and, following an early improvement in form, was handed a contract until the end of the season. However, he was relieved of his duties after results deteriorated.
In a final attempt to avoid relegation, Cardiff turned to club icon and active player Aaron Ramsey in a caretaker role. Despite his efforts, Ramsey was unable to engineer a great escape for his boyhood club, and Cardiff ultimately suffered the drop.
Irish forward Callum Robinson was a bright spot in an otherwise tough season, finishing with a joint career-best return of 12 league goals.
