CELTIC – HOME SHIRT 2012/2013

Celtic Football Club, commonly known as Celtic, are one of Scotland’s most famous and successful football clubs. Based in Glasgow, they compete in the top tier of Scottish football and play their home matches at Celtic Park, a historic stadium with a capacity of over 60,000. Founded in 1888, Celtic are renowned for their iconic green and white hooped shirts and passionate support.

This classic home shirt, designed by Nike, was worn during the 2012/2013 season, which marked Celtic’s 125th anniversary and one of the most memorable campaigns in the club’s modern history.

On the pitch, Celtic enjoyed a highly successful season under manager Neil Lennon. They clinched the Scottish Premier League title, finishing 1st and securing their 44th league championship. In domestic cup competitions, Celtic reached the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup before losing to eventual winners St. Mirren. The club did go on to win the Scottish Cup, defeating Hibernian 3–0 in the final to complete a league and cup double.

In Europe, Celtic competed in the UEFA Champions League, advancing from the group stage to reach the Round of 16. A historic highlight of the campaign was Celtic’s first ever away victory in the Champions League group stage, a dramatic 3–2 win over Spartak Moscow, secured by a late goal from Georgios Samaras. Their European run eventually ended against Juventus after losing 5-0 on aggregate.

In attack, Gary Hooper was Celtic’s standout performer, finishing as the club’s top scorer with 31 goals in all competitions, including 19 league goals. He was supported by key contributions from Kris Commons, Victor Wanyama, and Georgios Samaras throughout the season.
