France’s national team stand among international football’s elite, representing a nation with a rich and successful history on the world stage. France wore this slick away shirt at UEFA Euro 2004 in Portugal as they looked to defend their European crown.

The tournament, however, proved disappointing. Despite progressing from the group stage, France were eliminated in the quarter-finals after a shock 1–0 defeat to Greece, who would go on to win the competition in one of international football’s greatest upsets.

As of 2026, France comfortably secured automatic qualification for the 2026 World Cup, finishing top of their qualifying group with a series of dominant performances. They have been drawn into a competitive group alongside Mexico, Japan, and Nigeria. With immense talent in their squad, including Kylian Mbappé, William Saliba, and Ousmane Dembélé, France head into the tournament as one of the favourites and will be hoping to reclaim their crown after coming so close in 2022.
