Hertha BSC is a German professional football club based in Berlin. Hertha BSC was founded in 1892, and was a founding member of the German Football Association in Leipzig in 1900. The club is known as Die Alte Dame in German, which translates to "The Old Lady".

The team won the German championship in 1930 and 1931. Since 1963, Hertha's stadium has been the Olympiastadion. Which can host a massive 74,475, making it the second biggest in Germany. Despite this, Hertha BSC currently play in the 2. Bundesliga, the second tier of German football, following relegation from the Bundesliga in 2022/2023.

In the 2012/2013 season, when this classic away shirt was worn, Berlin were competing in 2. Bundesliga, following relegation from the top flight in 2011/2012. The season went exactly to plan as they topped the table and went back up to the Bundesliga as Champions.

They also competed in the DFB-Pokal, but went out to minnows Wormatia Worms in the very first round.

Brazilian midfielder Ronny finished as the club's top scorer that season with 18 in the league.
