HYDERABAD FC (SPORTING CLUB DELHI) – THIRD SHIRT 2022/2023
Hyderabad FC was a professional football club based in Hyderabad who competed in the Indian Super League (ISL), the top tier of Indian football. The club was originally founded on 27 August 2019 as Hyderabad FC, but ahead of the 2025/2026 ISL season, the club rebranded and relocated to Delhi. That relocation is even further than travelling from the most southern point of England to the most Northern part of Scotland! The move was driven by the club’s ownership under the Delhi-based B.C. Jindal Group.
Following the rebrand, SC Delhi unveiled a new badge featuring a phoenix, inspiring their new nickname: “The Phoenix”.
Hyderabad FC however, made their ISL debut in the 2019/2020 season, playing home matches at the G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Gachibowli. The club claimed its first major honour in the 2021/2022 season, defeating Kerala Blasters 3–1 on penalties in the final. Remarkably, goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani saved four penalties during the shootout, including one that was retaken after an initial save.
This smart away shirt was worn in 2022/2023 when the club were hoping to improve on their 2nd placed finish in 2021/2022. Unfortunately for Hyderabad, the club mustered up just a 2nd placed finish once more. Remarkably, the season after they dropped to last of 12 in the league!
