ICELAND WOMEN'S TEAM - HOME SHIRT 2022/2023
The Iceland women’s national team represents Iceland in international women’s football and is currently ranked 17th in the world by FIFA as of November 2025. The most-capped player is Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir with 145 appearances, while Margrét Lára Viðarsdóttir holds the record as the team’s all-time top scorer with 79 goals. The team plays its home matches at Laugardalsvöllur, a stadium with a capacity of 9,500 for football matches.
This deep blue V-neck shirt was worn during Iceland’s 2022 European Championship campaign as well as their World Cup qualifying campaign. The latter ended in heartbreak, as Iceland lost 4–1 to Portugal after extra time, failing to qualify for the World Cup.
Their Euros campaign was unusual in several ways. Drawn into a group of death alongside France, Italy, and Belgium, all three of Iceland’s group games ended in 1-1 draws, leaving them with 3 points and eliminated from the tournament.
The most dramatic moment came in their final group game against France. Iceland trailed 1-0 for a total of 104 minutes, following Melvine Malard’s opener 43 seconds in, before leveling with a penalty in the 90′ +12′, a goal that, while not enough to advance, may well be the longest time between two goals in a single 90-minute match!
