JUVENTUS – HOME SHIRT 2009/2010

Juventus Football Club, commonly known as Juventus or simply Juve, are a professional football club based in Turin, Piedmont, competing in Serie A, Italy’s top division. Founded in 1897, the Bianconeri are Italy’s most successful club, boasting a record 36 Serie A titles, 15 Coppa Italia trophies, and 9 Supercoppa Italiana wins. On the European stage, Juventus have also enjoyed major success, including two European Cups and three UEFA Cups.

During the 2009/2010 season, Juventus wore this classic black-and-white home kit while playing their matches at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino, prior to the opening of the Juventus Stadium in 2011.

The season proved to be a difficult and transitional one. Juventus finished 7th in Serie A, failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time since their return from Serie B. The campaign began under club legend Ciro Ferrara, but inconsistent performances led to his dismissal in January 2010, with Alberto Zaccheroni appointed as his replacement.

Despite the struggles, there were notable individual performances. Club captain Alessandro Del Piero was once again the team’s top scorer at age 36! He netted 9 league goals and 11 in all competitions.

The squad also featured several prominent names. Giorgio Chiellini was a leader in defence, while Claudio Marchisio continued to establish himself as a key homegrown midfielder. The legendary Gianluigi Buffon endured an injury-hit season, limiting his appearances and contributing to Juve’s defensive instability.

In cup competitions, Juventus were eliminated early in the Coppa Italia, and their European campaign ended disappointingly in the UEFA Europa League group stage.
