OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS – HOME SHIRT 2010/2011
Olympique Lyonnais, commonly known as Lyon or OL, are one of France’s most successful modern-era clubs, based in the city of Lyon in eastern France. Founded in 1950, the club rose to domestic dominance in the 2000s, winning a record seven consecutive Ligue 1 titles between 2002 and 2008, which, remarkably, are all of their League titles. On top of those, the club have won 5 Coupe de France trophies, and 1 Coupe de la Ligue.
During the 2010/2011 season, Lyon wore this classic home shirt in the first year of their partnership with adidas, marking the beginning of a long-term collaboration. That relationship has continued uninterrupted, and as of 2026, Adidas and Olympique Lyonnais are celebrating 16 years of partnership.
Throughout the 2010/2011 campaign, Lyon played their home matches at the historic Stade de Gerland - their home since 1950 - prior to a move to their current home, which is Groupama Stadium.
The season was Lyon’s final campaign under the management of Claude Puel. In Ligue 1, OL finished 3rd, securing qualification for the UEFA Champions League and extending their run of consecutive top-four finishes to 12 - a run that eventually reached 16 seasons.
Offensively, Lyon were led by Argentine striker Lisandro López, who enjoyed an outstanding campaign. He finished as the club’s top scorer with 17 league goals (and 19 goals in all competitions). Supporting him with the club's goals were Bafétimbi Gomis and Brazilian winger Michel Bastos. The squad also featured several other high-profile and influential players, such as Hugo Lloris, who captained the side, Yoann Gourcuff, and Miralem Pjanić.
In cup competitions, Lyon suffered disappointments on both domestic fronts. In the Coupe de France, OL were eliminated in the Round of 32, exiting earlier than anticipated in a rare early exit for the club. In the Coupe de la Ligue, they were knocked out in the Round of 16. In Europe, Lyon competed in the UEFA Champions League, advancing from the group stage before being eliminated in the Round of 16 by Real Madrid, who progressed with a 4–1 aggregate victory over Lyon.
