MANCHESTER CITY – THIRD SHIRT 2018/2019

Manchester City, historically considered Manchester’s second club behind United, have transformed into one of the world’s wealthiest and most successful teams since their 2008 takeover by the City Football Group. The Cityzens play their home matches at the Etihad Stadium and are managed by Spanish mastermind Pep Guardiola.

This third shirt comes from the 2018/2019 season, a historic campaign in which City completed a domestic treble. Not only did they win all three major English competitions (Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup), but they also lifted the Community Shield, becoming the first English club ever to hold all four of the nation’s primary trophies simultaneously - a truly remarkable achievement.

In Europe, City progressed to the Champions League quarter-finals with ease. They swept aside Schalke in the Round of 16, winning 10–2 on aggregate. The quarter-final against Tottenham was a modern classic: City won 4–3 in the second leg at the Etihad but were eliminated on away goals after the tie finished 4-4. The second leg saw five goals in the opening 21 minutes! City briefly thought they had won it after a dramatic 93rd-minute Raheem Sterling goal, but it was ruled out for offside in the build-up - crushing City’s hopes of an unprecedented quadruple.

Club legend Sergio Agüero led the scoring charts with 32 goals in all competitions.
