MANCHESTER UNITED – HOME SHIRT 2015/2016

Manchester United are one of the biggest and most successful football clubs in the world. Based at the iconic Old Trafford, the Red Devils have won more major trophies than any other English club - including 20 league titles, 13 FA Cups, 6 League Cups, and 4 European trophies (three UEFA Champions League titles and one UEFA Europa League).

United wore this home shirt during the 2015/16 season, under manager Louis van Gaal. In the League, they finished with 66 points, level with city rivals Manchester City, but missed out on a top-four spot due to an inferior goal difference.

Their EFL Cup campaign ended in disappointment, as they were knocked out on penalties by Championship side Middlesbrough in the fourth round.

In Europe, United were placed in a relatively favourable Champions League group alongside CSKA Moscow, PSV Eindhoven, and Wolfsburg, but failed to progress after finishing third. This saw them drop into the Europa League Round of 32, where they beat Midtjylland 6-3 on aggregate - a tie memorable for Marcus Rashford’s debut, in which the young striker scored twice in the second leg. However, their European run ended in the next round with a 3-1 aggregate defeat to bitter rivals Liverpool.

There was still some success, though. United lifted the FA Cup, beating Crystal Palace 2–1 in the final after Jesse Lingard fired home a stunning extra-time winner, despite the team being down to ten men. However, that triumph wasn’t enough to save Van Gaal, who was dismissed shortly after the final and replaced by José Mourinho.
