RED STAR BELGRADE - 2012/2013 AWAY SHIRT

Crvena Zvezda are colloquially referred to as Red Star Belgrade. They are the most successful club from the Balkans and Southeast Europe, being the only club to have won both the European Cup and Intercontinental Cup. They achieved this feat in 1991, and also became only the second team from Eastern Europe to win the European Cup.

Red Star's main rivals are fellow Belgrade side Partizan. The matches between these two clubs are known as the Eternal derby.

The 2012/2013 season, in which this lovely classic away shirt was worn, was an interesting one. The club had 3 different managers in this campaign. Robert Prosinečki started the campaign as manager, but resigned just 2 games into the league season, despite a decent 4 points from a possible 6.

Aleksandar Janković replaced him, in what was his 5th stint at the club! It didn't last very long, though as he was sacked on the 18th of March 2013. 

He was replaced by Ricardo Sá Pinto in a bid to try and save their season. After winning his first 8 games in charge, some hope was revived but ultimately Partizan Belgrade proved too strong and they finished 11 points behind the winners.
