ROTHERHAM UNITED - THIRD SHIRT 2025/2026

Rotherham United, founded in 1925 through the merger of Rotherham Town and Rotherham County, are a professional football club based in South Yorkshire. Affectionately known as The Millers in tribute to the town's industrial heritage, the club have called the New York Stadium home since 2012 - a ground named after the patch of Rotherham land it sits on, chosen ahead of "The Foundry" and "The Waterfront" when supporters were asked to weigh in.

The 2025/2026 season, during which this unique gold third shirt was worn, was the club's second consecutive campaign in League One and one that the Millers faithful will want to forget in a hurry. Matt Hamshaw - a boyhood Rotherham fan who had been handed a permanent three-year deal the previous summer - was relieved of his duties as results worsened, with former Birmingham boss Lee Clark brought in to try and halt the slide. Rotherham finished 23rd of 24, suffering a second relegation in three seasons and dropping into the fourth tier for the first time in thirteen years.

There was little in the way of cup consolation either. The Millers exited the FA Cup in the 1st round, the EFL Cup in the 2nd, and the EFL Trophy in the Round of 16.

The lone bright spot up top was striker Sam Nombe, who finished as Rotherham's top scorer with 12 League One goals - a respectable individual return in a team where chances were thin on the ground.
