RWDM BRUSSELS – THIRD SHIRT 2025/2026
RWDM Brussels are a historic Belgian professional football club based in the municipality of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, in Brussels.
The club’s roots trace back to Racing White and Daring Club de Bruxelles, two of the capital’s oldest football institutions dating back to the very early 1900s. Following several mergers and restructurings over the decades, RWDM was officially formed in 1973 after a merger between Racing White and Daring Molenbeek. The club quickly became one of Belgium’s strongest sides during the 1970s, winning the Belgian First Division title in 1974/1975 and regularly competing in European football.
RWDM developed a passionate working-class identity and became well known for the intense atmosphere at the Edmond Machtens Stadium. However, financial problems heavily impacted the club in the early 2000s, eventually leading to bankruptcy in 2002. For many years, the RWDM name disappeared from professional football altogether.
In 2015, the club was revived following the rebranding of White Star Brussels, bringing the famous RWDM identity back to Belgian football. Since then, the club has steadily climbed through the divisions and returned to the Belgian top flight for the 2023/2024 season.
After relegation from the Pro League, RWDM dropped back into the Challenger Pro League for the 2024/2025 campaign where they almost went straight back up, but missed out by 2 points.
This smart third shirt was worn in their second season back in the 2nd tier of Belgian football. Despite finishing outside of the relegation zone, the club were still relegated due to the unique Belgian league structure, as too many “B teams” from top-flight clubs finished below them and reserve sides cannot be relegated from the division, RWDM were ultimately forced into the drop despite their league position.
