FC SCHALKE 04 – HOME SHIRT 2018/2019

FC Schalke 04 are one of Germany’s most passionately supported clubs, hailing from the industrial city of Gelsenkirchen in the Ruhr region. The club shares a fierce and historic rivalry with nearby giants Borussia Dortmund, with matches between the two known as the Revierderby.

The club plays its home matches at the iconic Veltins-Arena, a modern 62,000-capacity stadium known for its electric atmosphere.

Die Königsblauen (The Royal Blues) wore this Umbro manufactured home shirt during a difficult 2018/2019 campaign, struggling to replicate the success of the previous season where they finished 2nd. Schalke finished 14th in the Bundesliga, narrowly avoiding relegation after a year marked by inconsistency and managerial changes.

In cup competitions, Schalke reached the Round of 16 in the DFB-Pokal, where they were eliminated by Werder Bremen in an entertaining but ultimately disappointing quarterfinals.

On the European stage, they competed in the UEFA Champions League after qualifying the previous season. They progressed from the group stage but were demolished in the Round of 16 by Manchester City, losing 10-2 on aggregate.
