BAYERN MUNICH – AWAY SHIRT 2015/2016
Bayern Munich, nicknamed Die Roten (The Reds), are European giants based in Bavaria, southern Germany. They are the most decorated club in German football history, a status underlined by their remarkable run of 11 consecutive Bundesliga titles from 2013 to 2024. Bayern play their home matches at the iconic Allianz Arena, a 75,000-seat cathedral of football.
This classic away shirt was worn during the 2015/2016 season, Pep Guardiola’s final campaign in charge. The season began on a disappointing note with a DFL-Supercup defeat to Wolfsburg on penalties, but Bayern soon found their rhythm and the year became a highly successful one.
In the Bundesliga, Bayern were dominant, finishing with 88 points, ten clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund. Former Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski led the way with 30 league goals and 42 in all competitions, showcasing one of the most prolific seasons of his career.
Bayern also lifted the DFB-Pokal, defeating Dortmund once again - this time 5–4 on penalties after a goalless 120 minutes.
In Europe, Bayern topped their Champions League group and advanced to the semi-finals, where they were narrowly eliminated by Atlético Madrid, losing on the away-goals rule after an Antoine Griezmann strike in the second leg.
