In the DFB-Pokal, Bayern reached the quarter-finals but were surprisingly knocked out by fourth-tier side Sportfreunde Lotte, producing one of the most shocking results of the season.

In the UEFA Champions League, Bayern advanced to the round of 16, where they were eliminated by Liverpool in a thrilling two-legged tie, ending their hopes of European glory for the campaign.

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski led the team in scoring, netting 40 goals across all competitions.
