Cruz Azul is a professional football club based in Mexico City.

The club, nicknamed La Máquina (The Machine) compete in Mexico’s top league, Liga MX. The club’s home colours are sky blue. They play matches at the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes.

Cruz Azul have been Mexican champions nine times and have won the CONCACAF Champions League six times (more than any other team).

Azul wore this third shirt when finishing 8th in both the apertura (opening) and clausura (closing) sections of the league, a disappointing season for a team with high aspirations.

In the CONCACAF Champions League they reached the semi-final before losing to fellow Mexican side Pumas UNAM.
