CLUB DE GIMNASIA Y ESGRIMA LA PLATA – THIRD SHIRT 2023

Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, known simply as Gimnasia is an Argentine professional football club who compete in the Primera División, the highest tier of football in the nation. The club are based in La Plata, the capital city of the Buenos Aires province and play their home games at the Estadio Juan Carmelo Zerillo, with a capacity of 24,500. 

El Lobo (The Wolf) were famously managed by footballing icon Diego Maradona from 2019, up until his death in late 2020. They are the oldest professional team in Argentina.

Gimnasia wore this third shirt in the 2023 season when finishing 22nd in the 28 team Primera División after the first phase of the season. In the second phase they finished 11th in Group A to conclude a disappointing season.

In the Copa Argentina, the club lost to All Boys on penalties in the Round of 64.

The club’s name translated means the gymnastics and fencing club of La Plata.
