2016/17 was an awful season for El Grana, who finished bottom of La Liga in 20th place, winning only four league games. Relegation meant returning to the Segunda Division
for the first time since 2011.

In an attempt to find a winning formula, Granada had three different managers throughout the season – finishing the season with Arsenal legend, Tony Adams, in charge.
