The Azzuri's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma wore this bold shirt during their European Championship run where they failed to retain their Euro's crown. They only reached the round of 16 before being knocked out by Switzerland. 

They scraped through their group with a 98th minute equaliser from Mattia Zaccagni against Croatia in their final group game, meaning they went through ahead of them. Donnarumma kept them in the game with a 54th minute penalty save from a Luka Modric penalty.
