LIONS GIBRALTAR – HOME SHIRT 2024/2025

Lions Gibraltar compete in the Gibraltar Football League, the highest level of football in Gibraltar.

The Lions were formed in 1966 when a group of friends wanted to start a team after the euphoria of England winning the World Cup. They wrote to the English FA to ask for permission to wear the Three Lions badge; this wish was granted and Lions Gibraltar are the only football club other than the English national team, with the Three Lions on their club crest.

Lions were purchased by Mark Palmer (ex CEO of Solihull Moors) in 2024, with the stated aim to improve the club’s performances and to raise their profile outside of Gibraltar.

The club are managed by David Wilson, who has also spent time as the assistant and interim manager of the Gibraltar national team.

Lions have been wearing this home shirt in the 2024/2025 season where they almost qualified for the UEFA Europa Conference League, by reaching the final of the Rock Cup, but narrowly missed out in a close fought encounter with FC Bruno Magpies. In the league the club comfortably finished in the top 6 play-off cut. Next season, Lions hope to take the next step and qualify for a European spot.
