VfL Osnabrück is a German club based in the city of the same name in Lower Saxony in the west of the country.

The Purple-Whites play home matches at the Stadion an der Bremer Brücke which holds 16,000.

The club hold the record for having played the most seasons in 2. Bundesliga without ever competing in the German top league, the Bundseliga.

The 2023–24 season was VfL Osnabrück's 125th season in existence and first one back in the 2. Bundesliga. They also competed in the DFB-Pokal. Unfortunately, it was a very poor season resulting in relegation having won just 6 games in the league and amassing a total of just 28 points. Their top scorer was Erik Engelhardt who managed just 5 in all competitions.
