SIMBA SPORTS CLUB – THIRD SHIRT 2025/2026
Simba Sports Club are a historic professional football club based in Kariakoo, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The club was founded in 1936 under the name "The Queens" before later adopting the name Sunderland. In 1971, the club was officially renamed Simba Sports Club, with “Simba” meaning Lion in Swahili. Since then, Simba have grown into one of the biggest and most successful clubs in East African football.
Known as the Reds of Msimbazi, Simba share one of Africa’s fiercest rivalries with Young Africans, with matches between the two clubs regularly attracting huge crowds and national attention throughout Tanzania. Simba play their home matches at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, the largest stadium in the country and also home to the Tanzanian national team.
Throughout their history, Simba have dominated Tanzanian football, winning numerous league titles and domestic cups while also becoming regular competitors in CAF continental competitions. The club has developed a reputation for passionate support, attacking football and representing Tanzanian football on the wider African stage.
This smart blue third shirt, featuring a cool Lion motif, has been worn during the 2025/2026 campaign as Simba once again have been locked in a title battle with Young Africans for honours in the Tanzanian Premier League. With 9 games to go they are sat second with 5 points separating them and Young Africans. They have, however, got the better of them in the Muungano Cup with a dramatic 90' +15 minute winner.
In the CAF Champions League the club were knocked out in the group stage.
