Les Lionceaux (The Lion Cubs) play in the city of Montbeliard, in Eastern France close to the Swiss border.

They have won the Coupe de la Ligue twice, the last time being in 2007 when they defeated Marseille on penalties.

Sochaux finished the Ligue 2 season in 13th place, with 11 wins from their 38 matches. Madagascan international Feneva Ima Andriatsima was the club’s top scorer with 14 goals.

In the Coupe de la Ligue, Sochaux made the Quarter Finals before losing to Monaco on penalties, taking the scalp of Marseille along the way.
