Udinese Calcio are one of Italian football's most enduring sides, founded in 1896 in the small Friulian city of Udine in the country's north-east. Known to fans as Le Zebrette ("The Little Zebras") for their famous black-and-white striped home shirts, the club play their home matches at the 25,000-capacity Bluenergy Stadium - the modern, club-owned ground formerly known as the Stadio Friuli. Under the long stewardship of the Pozzo family, Udinese have built a reputation as one of European football's most astute developmental clubs and the home of legend Antonio Di Natale.

The 2024/2025 campaign - during which this striking away shirt was worn - was the first season under new manager Kosta Runjaić, the Polish-German coach who had taken charge in the summer from Gabriele Cioffi. Le Zebrette enjoyed a vibrant start under their new boss, sitting in the top half through the autumn months, before a second-half dip saw them eventually settle in 12th place in Serie A.

The attacking partnership of Italian striker Lorenzo Lucca and French winger Florian Thauvin lit up much of the campaign. Lucca finished as the club's top scorer with 12 Serie A goals. Thauvin chipped in with eight of his own, which was his best tally since 2018/2019.
