FC Utrecht is a professional club based in Utrecht, Netherlands. It was formed in 1970 following the merger of several local clubs.

They play at the 23,750 capacity Stadion Galgenwaard, in Utrecht and are nicknamed Domstedelingen (The Cathedral Citizens).

Utrecht play in the Eredivisie, the top Dutch League from which they have never been relegated. The club wore this unusual pink and purple away shirt in the 2017/2018 Eredivisie season, when finishing 5th in the league.

Utrecht are considered the team most likely to challenge the Dutch ‘Big Three’
clubs: Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven.
