The club competed in the group stages of the Champions League after defeating HJK, Sheriff Tiraspol and Qarabag in the early knock out rounds.

However, they finished bottom of Group C, perhaps not surprising given the group consisted of Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Barcelona!
