Football Club Volendam is a professional club based in the northern Dutch town of Volendam.

De Palingboeren have a reputation as the ‘heen-en-weer club’, meaning back and forth due to their numerous promotions and relegations.

Volendam play home matches at the Kras Stadion, which hosts a maximum of 6,984 fans.

The club wore this unusual away shirt, that is sponsored by Johan Cruyff's foundation, in their first Eredivisie campaign for 14 years after being promoted in their previous campaign.

All things considered, their 14th place finish can be considered a success as they stayed up. Daryl van Miegham was their top scorer, finishing on 8. Former Ajax academy graduate and Huddersfield player Carel Eiting grabbed double digit assists with 10.
