WERDER BREMEN – AWAY SHIRT 2016/2017

Sportverein Werder Bremen, commonly known as Werder Bremen, are one of Germany’s most historic clubs, based in the city of Bremen in the north of the country. Founded in 1899, the club has enjoyed periods of major success, including multiple Bundesliga titles and a European Cup Winners’ Cup triumph in 1992. They play their home matches at the Weserstadion, situated along the River Weser.

During the 2016/2017 season, Werder Bremen wore this away shirt as they embarked on a dramatic Bundesliga campaign. The season began poorly, with the club struggling near the bottom of the table, but a remarkable turnaround under manager Alexander Nouri saw them surge up the standings in the second half of the season.

Werder ultimately finished 8th in the Bundesliga, narrowly missing out on European qualification after one of the league’s strongest second-half runs. Their attacking style proved effective, with a young Serge Gnabry emerging as the team’s standout performer and top scorer with 11 league goals.

In the DFB-Pokal, Bremen exited as soon as possible in Round 1. They lost to then 3. Liga side Sportfreunde Lotte 1-0.
