GIBRALTAR – HOME SHIRT 2018

The Gibraltar national football team are one of UEFA and FIFA’s newest members, having joined the international football community in 2013. Gibraltar is referred to as the 54th team because it was officially admitted as the 54th member of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) on May 24, 2013. Following a long, 16-year legal battle, the UEFA Congress voted to accept the Gibraltar Football Association, making them the smallest member by population at that time. 

As one of international football’s smallest nations, Gibraltar were still searching for consistency at competitive level in 2018. Key figures during this period included captain Roy Chipolina, creative midfielder Liam Walker and veteran forward Lee Casciaro.

This home shirt was worn throughout the 2018 international fixtures, including the inaugural UEFA Nations League campaign. The design proudly features Gibraltar’s traditional red and white colours, reflecting the national flag and identity. While victories were hard-earned, the shirt symbolises a landmark year in which Gibraltar claimed historic competitive successes and continued their steady rise within European football.
