KVC WESTERLO - THIRD SHIRT 2025/2026

KVC Westerlo are a Belgian professional club from the small Antwerp-province town of the same name, founded in 1933 and known to their fans as De Kemphanen - Dutch for "The Fighting Cocks", a nod to the village's old country pastimes. They play at Het Kuipje ("The Cockpit"), a compact 8,000-capacity ground whose name is itself a tongue-in-cheek reference to Feyenoord's vast De Kuip in Rotterdam. Their proudest day remains the 2001 Belgian Cup final, when a 1-0 win over Lommel delivered the only major trophy in the club's history.

The 2025/2026 campaign, in which this unique third shirt featuring a reflective badge was worn, marked Westerlo's 93rd season and a fourth straight year back in the Belgian Pro League. The summer was eventful: Croatian striker Matija Frigan was sold to Parma for a reported €10 million, and Moroccan-Belgian coach Issame Charaï was appointed head coach in June after a short stint as Rangers' assistant. The Kemphanen finished the regular season 9th on 39 points - comfortably clear of relegation trouble but well short of the title race, dropping them into the Europe play-off group at season's end.

The Belgian Cup ended early - eliminated in the round of 32 on 30 October by second-tier Beerschot, who took a 3-2 win in Antwerp.

Spanish forward Nacho Ferri led the line as the club's top scorer with 11 league goals, with Japanese winger Isa Sakamoto adding 6 and Iranian Allahyar Sayyadmanesh chipping in 7.
