RC LENS – HOME SHIRT 2012/2013
Racing Club de Lens, commonly known as RC Lens or simply Lens, are a professional football club based in Lens, in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France. Founded in 1906, the club has strong roots in the region’s mining heritage and is renowned for its passionate support. Lens play their home matches at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis. The club’s honours include one Ligue 1 title (1997/1998), a Coupe de la Ligue, and multiple Ligue 2 championships.
During the 2012/2013 season, Lens wore this collared red and yellow home shirt while competing in Ligue 2, France’s second tier. The campaign proved to be a frustrating one, as no ground was made on the previous season.
Lens were initially under the management of Jean-Louis Garcia, but after a poor start to the season, he was sacked with the club in 15th. He was replaced by Éric Sikora, who improved things slightly, but ultimately Lens finished 12th in the league. In attack, Yoann Touzghar and Pierrick Valdivia were the club’s standout performers, finishing as Lens’ top scorers with 11 league goals each.
Cup competitions were a mixed bag. Lens were eliminated in the 1st round in the Coupe de la Ligue, but did make it to the Quarter-finals of the Coupe de France, before losing to Bordeaux.
Since their promotion in 2019/2020, Lens have consistently competed in the top half of Ligue 1, even challenging PSG all the way in 2022/2023 before ultimately finishing second. As of January 11th, 2026, they sit at the top of Ligue 1, a point clear of PSG - a remarkable rise for a club that spent nearly a decade in Ligue 2.
