RC LENS - THIRD SHIRT 2023/2024
RC Lens is a professional football club based in Lens, France. The team plays their home matches at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, a 38,223-seater stadium - impressively, that’s around 7,000 more than the city’s population! Competing in Ligue 1, the top tier of French football, RC Lens has enjoyed some notable success over the years, including a Ligue 1 title in 1998 and a Coupe de la Ligue victory in 1999.
During the 2023/24 season, in which they showcased this sleek third kit, Lens took part in Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, the Champions League, and later the Europa League.
It was a solid, if unspectacular, campaign. In the league, they finished 7th, securing a place in the UEFA Conference League for the following season.
In Europe, Lens found themselves in a challenging Champions League group alongside Arsenal, PSV, and Sevilla. They finished the group stage in third, which saw them drop into the Europa League play-off round, where they were narrowly eliminated by SC Freiburg across two legs - a 0–0 draw at home followed by a 3–2 defeat in Germany.
Their domestic cup run was also short-lived, as they exited the Coupe de France in the Round of 64, losing to AS Monaco on penalties.
Elye Wahi finished as Lens’ top scorer with 12 goals in all competitions. This earned him a move to Marseille just one year after joining the club.
