LIONS GIBRALTAR – AWAY SHIRT 2025/2026

Lions Gibraltar compete in the Gibraltar Football League, the highest level of football in Gibraltar.

The Lions were formed in 1966 when a group of friends wanted to start a team after the euphoria of England winning the World Cup. They wrote to the English FA to ask for permission to wear the Three Lions badge; this wish was granted and Lions Gibraltar are the only football club other than the English national team, with the Three Lions on their club crest.

Lions owners have a stated aim to improve the club’s performances and to raise their profile outside of Gibraltar.

The club are managed by Wally Downes, one of the original members of Wimbledon's crazy gang in the 1980's!

Lions are wearing this away shirt in the 2025/2026 season where they hope to improve on last season's mid table finish. The highlight of the season was reaching the Rock Cup Final, unfortunately losing to Bruno's Magpies and as such just missed out on European competition qualification.

The 2025/2026 shirt is sponsored by Gib Sams, a local charity offering a listening service to people on the Rock who are struggling with mental health issues.
