FBC MELGAR – ANNIVERSARY SHIRT 2024

FBC Melgar is a professional football club based in the southern Peruvian city of Arequipa. Founded in 1915, Melgar are one of Peru's oldest football clubs. 

The club's traditional colours are red and black, and they are affectionately nicknamed ’El Domin’ due to their distinctive kit design. 

FBC Melgar's home matches are held at the Estadio Monumental Virgen de Chapi, also known as the Estadio de la UNSA, which boasts a capacity of approximately 40,000 spectators. This stadium also hosts international fixtures.

Melgar have won the Peruvian Primera División title twice in 1981 and 2015. 

The club wore this anniversary shirt, which celebrates the 484th anniversary of the city with the slogan ‘forged by the volcano’, in their 2024 Peruvian Liga 1 season when finishing 3rd. Internationally, FBC Melgar competed in the 2024 Copa Libertadores. However, they were knocked out at the first stage by Club Aurora from Bolivia.
