FC NORDSJÆLLAND – AWAY SHIRT 2013-2015
Football Club Nordsjælland, commonly known as FC Nordsjælland or FCN, are a Danish professional football club based in Farum, representing the North Zealand region. The club was founded in 1991 following a merger of local sides and competes in the Danish Superliga, Denmark’s top division. FCN are widely known for their emphasis on youth development, attacking football, and producing talented players who have gone on to play at top European clubs. Their most notable achievement came in 2011/2012, when they won the Danish Superliga for the first time in the club’s history, earning a place in the UEFA Champions League.
FCN play their home matches at Right to Dream Park, named after the club’s partnership with the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana, which FC Nordsjælland co-owns and integrates into its own youth development system. The stadium name reflects the club’s philosophy of nurturing young talent from around the world and giving them the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
During the 2013/2014 season, Nordsjælland wore this distinctive away shirt for Superliga matches. They finished 6th in the Danish Superliga, securing 46 points from 33 matches with 38 goals scored and 44 conceded. Key contributors included Joshua John who was their top scorer and Emiliano Marcondes, who was establishing himself in the first team.
In the 2014/2015 season, Nordsjælland again wore this away strip. They finished 6th in the Superliga again in what was a very similar season to the former. They accumulated 44 points with 39 goals scored and 44 conceded. The team featured an exciting mix of youth and experience, once again including Emiliano Marcondes and Joshua John, but it was Uffe Bech who finished as top scorer.
Over the years, the club have produced terrific academy products such as Benjamin Nygren, Mohammed Kudus, Oliver Damsgaard, Sulemana, Simon Adingra, and Mathias Jensen amongst others. In the Danish Cup, FCN were eliminated in an early round, but their focus remained on league performance and continuing their tradition of developing future stars.
