SICILY – HOME SHIRT 2025
The Sicily national football team represents the historic Mediterranean island of Sicily, an autonomous region of Italy with a population of around five million people. Despite its rich footballing culture - producing clubs such as Palermo FC and Calcio Catania - Sicily does not compete separately in official international competitions.
The team is not recognised by FIFA or UEFA, but represents the island in alternative international football. Sicily is a member of CONIFA, the organisation that provides a platform for nations, minorities and regions that are not part of the FIFA system. Through CONIFA, the Sicilian side competes in tournaments such as the CONIFA World Football Cup as well as various friendly matches and invitational competitions.
Home fixtures are typically hosted at stadiums across the island, often utilising the grounds of professional clubs such as the Stadio Renzo Barbera in Palermo. Matches are a celebration of Sicilian identity and football culture, bringing together players with Sicilian heritage from both the island itself and the global Sicilian diaspora.
This shirt was produced by Italian sportswear brand Insula Sportiva. The design draws inspiration from the island’s distinctive red and yellow colours - taken from the Sicilian flag - and proudly features the iconic Trinacria symbol, representing the island’s three coastal points and deep cultural history.
In 2025, in which this unique home shirt has been worn, Sicily won the Sikelia Cup beating Costa D'Avorio LFP 5-1 in the final!
