SIMBA BHORA - AWAY SHIRT 2025
Simba Bhora are a Zimbabwean professional football club based in Shamva, Mashonaland Central Province. Founded in 2008 and owned by businessman Simba Ndoro, the club rose rapidly through the lower leagues, winning the Northern Region Division One title in 2022 before earning promotion to the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League. They are the first club from Mashonaland Central, and only the third from outside Bulawayo and Harare, ever to be crowned champions of Zimbabwean football.
The 2025 campaign began with Simba Bhora as defending PSL champions, having sealed their first ever title in 2024 with two games to spare. The pre-season proved difficult - a number of their stars, including 2024 Soccer Star of the Year Walter Musona, were signed by newly promoted big-spenders Scottland. New coach Joel Luphahla took the helm in January, and under his stewardship Simba Bhora finished 3rd in the Premier Soccer League with 61 points, eight behind champions Scottland and one behind MWOS in 2nd.
Off the pitch, the season carried a complication unique to Zimbabwean football. Having qualified for the 2025/2026 CAF Champions League as defending domestic champions, Simba Bhora were unable to play their home continental fixtures in Zimbabwe due to the lack of any CAF-certified stadium in the country, and instead hosted them across the border in South Africa. They failed to qualify four the tournament proper after losing to Eswatini side Nsingizini Hotspur on penalties.
A third-place finish under a brand-new coach, with so much of the title-winning squad sold to the side that ended up champions, was no small achievement.
