STUTTGART - AWAY SHIRT 2024/2025

VfB Stuttgart were founded in 1893 and are based in Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg in south-west Germany. Known as Die Roten (The Reds), they play their home matches at the MHPArena, the ground originally built as the Neckarstadion, and they remain one of German football's grand old names with five national championships to their name.

The 2024/2025 campaign, during which this classy away shirt was worn, was Stuttgart's 132nd season and a fifth consecutive year in the Bundesliga under head coach Sebastian Hoeneß. Having finished as stunning runners-up the previous year, they came back down to earth in the league, ending ninth on 50 points after losing the goals of Serhou Guirassy and captain Waldemar Anton to Borussia Dortmund, and defender Hiroki Ito to Bayern Munich for 30 million euros.

What the season is best remembered for, though, is silverware. Stuttgart lifted the DFB-Pokal, beating a fairytale Arminia Bielefeld side 4-2 in the final in Berlin to claim their first major trophy since 2007. They also sampled the big time in Europe, competing in the Champions League league phase for the first time in its new format, though they finished 26th and missed out on the knockout rounds. They were also runners-up in the DFL-Supercup.

Bosnian striker Ermedin Demirović led the way in his debut season after a 21 million euro move from Augsburg, top scoring with 15 league goals and 17 in all competitions. Homegrown forward Nick Woltemade announced himself with 10 league goals, while Deniz Undav, signed permanently from Brighton, weighed in with nine of his own.
