AC Milan are one of Italian football's grand old institutions, founded in 1899 and based in the Lombard capital. Known to supporters as the Rossoneri (the red and blacks) and Il Diavolo (the Devil), they share the vast San Siro, officially the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, with city rivals Inter, a cauldron holding around 75,000. The 2025/2026 campaign, during which this striking away shirt was worn, marked the return of Massimiliano Allegri, the coach who had steered Milan to the Scudetto in 2010/2011. In a rare season with no European football to fill the midweeks, the Rossoneri could pour everything into the domestic front, yet they fell just short, finishing 5th in Serie A and missing a Champions League return on a tense final day. Rafael Leão led the Serie A charts with nine league goals, the Portuguese forward's pace and swagger a constant menace down the left, while American Christian Pulisic finished as the club's top scorer across all competitions. It proved a campaign of steady rebuilding rather than silverware, Allegri restoring structure and grit as Milan set about hauling themselves back towards the European elite where they feel they belong.
