ALEMANNIA AACHEN – THIRD SHIRT 2025/2026

Alemannia Aachen is a German football club from the western city of Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia.

Founded on 16 December 1900, the club has experienced periods of real prominence, including four seasons in the Bundesliga and runner-up finishes in both league and cup competitions. Alemannia carries the nickname "the potato beetles" (Kartoffelkäfer) because of their traditionally striped yellow-black jerseys.

Aachen's best-ever result came in the 1968-69 season with a 2nd place finish in the Bundesliga behind champion Bayern Munich. They have reached the DFB-Pokal final on three occasions - in 1953, 1965, and 2004 - losing each encounter. The 2003-04 run was particularly remarkable: they knocked out TSV 1860 Munich, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Mönchengladbach before losing to Bundesliga champions Werder Bremen, with their runners-up finish earning them a place in the UEFA Cup, where they advanced to the Round of 32.

The club entered bankruptcy in late 2012 and spent over a decade in the Regionalliga West before winning the division in 2023-24 to earn promotion back to the 3. Liga.

They wore this third shirt in the 2025/2026 season - their second consecutive campaign back in the 3. Liga - finishing 7th in the table with 19 wins, 7 draws and 12 defeats, a solid mid-table return for a club still rebuilding its place in the professional game.
