ALGERIA – AWAY SHIRT 2024
Known as Les Fennecs (The Desert Foxes), Algeria play their home matches mainly at the Stade Nelson Mandela in Algiers. Formed in 1962 after independence, Algeria have become a major force in African football. The team won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1990 and again in 2019, and memorably reached the Round of 16 at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, where they pushed eventual champions Germany to extra time before losing 2-1.
The modern era of the national team has been defined by standout talents. Riyad Mahrez is widely regarded as an Algerian icon, celebrated as a Premier League champion with Leicester City and later as a key figure in Manchester City’s domestic and European success. The squad has also featured Rayan Aït-Nouri, whose rise in European football has resulted in him following in Mahrez's footsteps and joining Manchester City. Adding a unique storyline, Zinedine Zidane’s son also represents Algeria, despite his father’s legendary career with France.
This stunning away shirt was worn by Algeria during their World Cup qualifying campaign under Vladimir Petković, as they topped their group to return to the world stage for the first time in 12 years.
At the 2026 World Cup itself, Les Fennecs opened with a 3-0 defeat to Argentina, Lionel Messi scoring a hat-trick, before bouncing back to beat debutants Jordan 2-1 and then drawing with Austria. Four points were enough to reach the knockouts as one of the best third-placed teams, before a 2-0 defeat to Switzerland in Vancouver ended their run in the Round of 32.
